A face of a woman appears out of the darkness, only her eyes are visible, suggesting that there
is a woman. Her eyes look at us, they stare at us. The camera acts as a mirror and in reverse
she stares at herself. The gaze keeps open a space for questions that the notion of perception
closes down.

I Wonder If You Wonder

2005
I Wonder If You Wonder' is a video based on a still image (face) projected onto a moving body.
The face is fragmented and alive through movement, the play of light and the sound of whispering.
The relationship of moving and still has been reversed. The screen moves and the image is still.
The figure becomes ground and the ground becomes a figure, thus shifting estrangement and
identification back and forth in such a way that the internalization and externalization
reverse back upon the play of difference. The video is a conduit between memory and
imagination, projection and reflection.
